Last week, we tried four red wines from Emina Winery in advance at Xibarita! They were Emina Passion, Emina Crianza, Emina Prestigo and Emina Atio. Among them, The Emina Crianza and Emina Prestigo really impressed us a lot with its lingering flavors.
For this time, same as last week as we will try some wines from Emina too, but differently, they are all white beauties. In a warm summer day, how refreshness it can be with a couple of chilled white wines. So here, we want to thanks to Torres, the export manager from Emina winery, he chose a good time to show the charm of those whites.
The first wine is Emina Carlos Moro Selection White. It’s a limit white wine. They only produce 12000 bottles each year for all markets in the world. So in China, as you guessed, each bottle is not easy to get. The wine has a straw yellow color, with a tropical fruits aroma. Well balanced with exquisite finish. This is why it got 90 points from Robert Parker. Carlos Moro, the owner of Emina winery also give his signature on the lable, and stock it in his private cellar.
Next we go for Heredad Emina Chardonnay. This chardonnay wine was aging in the French oak barrel for 6 months, so it has not only the tropical fruits aroma, but also the vanilla. Comparing with the first one, this one will be more accessible for everyone.
Emina Semiseco is the third wine, a half dry sparkling wine. It can be a good choice for ladies, because of its sweetness. We trust that this sparkling will be a star wine for our clients. When you open it, it’s like opening a honey bottle. You can find the hints of fresh apple, and fine bubbles. You shouldn’t miss this wine for summer.
The fourth, also is a sparkling: Emina Brut Nature. It follows the champagne method, made from 100% verdejo grapes. We can note hints of passion fruits, mango, and creamy. On the palate, it’s also very silky, with more acidity, and fresh.
The last one is Emina Rosado Brut. It’s very special, because of its color and aroma. It has a Salmon pink color, full of the aroma of red fruits, such like raspberry, strawberry. This wine has a very good balance of its alcohol and acidity.
Through the tasting, we can learned the concept of of Emina Winery. It requests a super high quality from harvest to vinification, from design to packaging.
The founder of EMINA, Carlos Moro, comes from a family that has always been linked with the world of wine. His ancestors cultivated the vines with care and passion, a passion that Carlos Moro cultivated right from when he was young. In 1988, having worked in other sectors, but always with his sights set on the vine and wine, this winemaker returned to Valbuena de Duero to create Matarromera winery and in 1995 began to take shape with the birth of Emina Winery located in San Bernardo in the centre of the Ribera´s Golden Mille, inside de triangle formed by Valbuena de Duero, Pesquera de Duero and Peñafiel. With the same premise based on constantly opting for quality, Emina is gradually becoming one of the key wineries in the Ribera’s Golden Mile. The final years of the 90s served to consolidate the growth of Emina in the field of wines of excellence, distinction and elegance.
