Gramona is a winery from the heart of the Penedes region next to Barcelona that started their wine history in 1850. Many years later, in 1945 Bartomeu and Josep Lluis started the era of the long-aged sparkling wines based on the French champagne tradition, this is when their wine III Lustros was born.
In the late 20th century, they felt the imperative need to find an alternative harvesting way to keep the essence of their soils reigning in their wines. This led Gramona to start with the biodynamic technique. To know more about it and to taste the new vintage of Gessami (2020) on September 14th, we organized a training with our staff led by the brand ambassador Jean Claude Terjmane. Thanks to Mr. Terjmane we could appreciate the details of one of the jewels of the brand and even from the Spanish organic wines scenario. Gessami is consisting in a blend of three grapes, great aromatic intensity and evoking a bunch of wild flowers such as jasmine, orange blossom, and rose. In the mouth, it is pleasant on entry, light bodied and silky on the palate.
Gramona has recently upgraded Gessami’s label to a serigraphy in order to give more character to the bottle and reduce the consumption of paper.
